Originally from Finland, Dr Kati completed her veterinary studies at James Cook University in Townsville. She spent many years in mixed animal practice in Innisfail before deciding to join the Emergency Vets 24/7 team to follow her passion in all things medicine. Kati has a 1 year old cat called Henry who was rescued from a drain in Babinda as a kitten. She also has a 1 year old Great Dane x Bull Arab called Sisu, named after a Finnish word meaning gutsy or brave. When not at work saving animals Kati enjoys spending time with her friends, outdoor activities such as rogaine orienteering or just spending time at home with her hubby and pets on their small acreage.
